Atelier 2 is a studio and gallery in Kathmandu, Nepal founded by two of South Asia's pioneering artists: Dr. Seema Sharma Shah and her husband Uma Shankar Shah. The artist duo have been creating works using experimental techniques in Zinc Etching Print making, colour viscocity, collage and oil painting. Their works have been applauded all over the world, have won the duo the 'best print making' award two years in a row at the Miami Art Festival in Doral and Uma Shankar the first prize at the Xichuan Print Beinnale in China. The duo are also lecturers at the Central Department of Fine Arts at Tribhuwan University, Nepal.
The pair have participated in more than 70 shows held nationally and internationally in Japan, Korea, USA, UK, the Netherlands, France, India, Scotland, and Bangladesh receiving several awards and finding their works in the collections of the World Bank, Asian Museum in Japan, Welt Museum in Vienna and several more.
